Welcome to 2011

Another year has arrived (well, for those of us on this calendar), so Happy New Year!

When 1984 arrived, I was relieved that Big Brother had not taken over. When 1999 arrived, I was disappointed by the lack of a moon base. When 2001 arrived, I had mixed feelings that HAL 9000 was not around and I had to settle for the internet trying to kill us all with porn and scams instead. When 2010 arrived, I had hoped for some cool science fiction stuff. For 2011, well, I mainly want people to have jobs. That does sound rather like science fiction like now.
